Even though winter is technically still a few days away, there is definitely a chill in the air, even here in sunny Queensland. I’ve been wearing a beanie when outside gardening and snuggling under a knitted blanket in the evenings.
Another winter must-have is a knitted shawl, and if you like ecological fibres, then this Natural yarn shawl will be ideal for you. Natural is a Tencel and linen blend yarn which amazingly is obtained from the wood pulp of eucalyptus trees! How incredible is that? This yarn is beautifully soft and luxurious as well as being environmentally friendly.
And when you buy the yarn, you can recieve this gorgeous shawl pattern for free. Using 4 balls of Natural, it is worked on larger needles than usually recommended, to create a flowing, drapey fabric.
You’ll find the Shawl sizes and Natural colour range here: http://www.knittingyarnsonline.com.au/CY087.html

Today I am showcasing my Audrey and Ivy beanie patterns. Personally, this is one of my favourite designs and I hope you will like it too.
It is an 8ply Beret style Beanie which is worked in an easy block stitch and can be worn several ways. Wear it as a Beret, a slouchy Beanie or turn up the brim to create a firmer fit Beanie. The patterns include sizes 2 years through to ladies, and it requires just one 100g ball of acrylic yarn (although you could easily use a pure wool yarn if you prefer).
The difference between these two patterns is that Audrey is worked on a pair of needles and seemed, while Ivy is worked in the round, on a set of needles, so doesn’t require a seam. I have both preferences covered with this one!
You will find details about Audrey here: http://www.knittingpatternsonline.com.au/Audrey.html
You will find details about Ivy here: http://www.knittingpatternsonline.com.au/Ivy.html
Happy knitting and be well!
‘Harry’ is a family 5×2 rib Beanie which is reversible, making it like two beanies in one! Use a flat seam to make it reversible, or choose which side you like best and make that the right side. The pattern includes 5 sizes, covering all ages from 2 years through to mens. Read all about it here: http://www.knittingpatternsonline.com.au/Harry.html
The lovely flecks of colour in the Denim yarn add an extra dimension to the easy rib stitch. Denim yarn is available for sale from my Knitting Yarns Online website. You will find it here: http://www.knittingyarnsonline.com.au/Denim.html

I love knitting for babies. Whether it’s a jumper, beanie or shoes, they always look so cute in those tiny little sizes! At the moment I’m knitting a lot of baby shoes. They’re super quick to knit and great for using up left over bits of yarn.
I have a large collection of baby shoe and sandal patterns for sale, for 3ply, 4ply and 8ply, and they all include sizes 0, 3, 6 and 9 months.
You’ll find the shoes that are photographed (along with many other styles) here: http://www.knittingpatternsonline.com.au/babyshoes.html
