Even though winter is technically still a few days away, there is definitely a chill in the air, even here in sunny Queensland. I’ve been wearing a beanie when outside gardening and snuggling under a knitted blanket in the evenings.
Another winter must-have is a knitted shawl, and if you like ecological fibres, then this Natural yarn shawl will be ideal for you. Natural is a Tencel and linen blend yarn which amazingly is obtained from the wood pulp of eucalyptus trees! How incredible is that? This yarn is beautifully soft and luxurious as well as being environmentally friendly.
And when you buy the yarn, you can recieve this gorgeous shawl pattern for free. Using 4 balls of Natural, it is worked on larger needles than usually recommended, to create a flowing, drapey fabric.
You’ll find the Shawl sizes and Natural colour range here: http://www.knittingyarnsonline.com.au/CY087.html
Happy knitting and keep warm!
I love this Sweater design and I love Champetre yarn with its gorgeous tonal colours, which make even plain knitting look super special. And now, when you purchase the yarn to knit this sweater, you will get the pattern for FREE! How fantastic is that.
Champetre is a wool/acrylic/viscose blend and comes in 5 stunning colour combinations.
The pattern includes sizes S through to XL.
You will find the measurement info and see the full colour range here: http://www.knittingyarnsonline.com.au/CY050.html
I hope you are all having a lovely Easter weekend, even though if like me, you are currently separated from your family and friends. Won’t it be awesome when this isolation is over with and we can all get together in person again! But for now, knitting is a brilliant way to keep yourself occupied.
The yarn I would like to introduce to you today, is Tweet. This 80% acrylic and 20% mohair blend yarn gives this yarn a soft and silky feel. The tail ends are delicately brushed, compact and very fine, forming an unique and perfect thread that you will adore. Light and easy to work with in a range of fashionable colours, Tweet is the ideal yarn for creating chic and contemporary warm knitwear including cardigans, cowls, shawls and hats.
This yarn is approximately a 12ply and comes in 9 beautiful colours. Check out the full range here: http://www.knittingyarnsonline.com.au/Tweet.html
Happy knitting and keep safe!
My first lot of knitting kits are now available online – woo-hoo!
I currently have kits for beanies, slippers and a neck scarf, in a variety of yarns, and I will be adding more styles over the coming weeks and months.
Since the modern yarns don’t always fall into the old ply system, it can be confusing working out which pattern you can use with which yarn. I hope that by offering these kits, it will simplify the process for you. Each kit contains a printed pattern, along with the yarn required to knit one item. The packaging isn’t fancy but the cardboard box is recyclable and I think that’s more important than being pretty.
These kits can be posted worldwide and so there are no surprises when deciding if the kit is right for you, the listed price on my website includes postage to various locations around the world.
To see what kits are currently on offer, please visit the following link to search the knitting kits available, either by yarn, or by project type, and make sure you keep coming back to see what new styles become available:
This 4ply family Beanie, with optional pom pom, has a 2×2 rib brim then is worked in easy stocking stitch. Let the yarn do its’ thing to create the beautiful striping and fair isle design for you – but feel free to take the credit as though you did that fancy work yourself! The pattern includes 5 sizes and you can get all the important details here: http://www.knittingpatternsonline.com.au/Ivory.html
Super soft to the touch, Monte Bianco 4ply yarn is great for beanies, socks, kids and baby garments, as well as luxurious shawls. This self-patterning yarn comes in a gorgeous range of tonal colours, and makes even the plainest stitches look like something special. This yarn is made in Italy and is available for sale from my Knitting Yarns Online website. Ready more about it and see the colour range here: http://www.knittingyarnsonline.com.au/MonteBianco.html
‘Mallory’ is a warm and chunky Beanie, with optional pom pom. It is worked in a simple texture stitch and has a rib brim. Perfect for those new to knitting beanies, it is easy and quick to knit. The pattern includes 5 sizes covering kids, teens, ladies and men. Check it out here: http://www.knittingpatternsonline.com.au/Mallory.html
It is worked in the gorgeous Abbraccio yarn. This chunky, beautifully soft yarn has a lovely drape. Being 100% microfiber, it is perfect for those with sensitive skin, and for those who don’t enjoy the scratchy feeling that some pure wool yarns have. See the colour range and read more about it here: http://www.knittingyarnsonline.com.au/Abbraccio.html
From next week I will be offering knitting kits which combine patterns with the yarn required to knit them – and Mallory will be one of those kits. Stay tuned for more details on that next week!
My moccasin style slipper patterns have been very popular, and given how quick and easy they are to knit, as well as warm and comfortable to wear, I can understand why.
Today I introduce you to Sherrie, which are slippers knitted in Coast yarn. This delightful combination of lambswool and cotton provides great comfort as well as wonderful stitch definition. And the pattern includes 6 sizes so it is suitable for those with little or large feet!
You can get all the pattern details here: http://www.knittingpatternsonline.com.au/Sherrie.html
And learn more about Coast yarn here: http://www.knittingpatternsonline.com.au/Coast.html
It has been a couple of weeks now since I posted a new pattern, but stay tuned as there are three new ones coming up very shortly.
During this break from designing and knitting, I have been very busy listing all of my knitting patterns on Amazon. So if you are an avid Amazon shopper or prefer your patterns in a format more suited to your Kindle, Tablet or Smartphone, then you can now purchase my patterns directly from Amazon.
Currently all patterns are in electronic format only but my next big task will be to make paperback versions available as well. You will find my Amazon patterns here: https://www.amazon.com.au/s/ref=dp_byline_sr_ebooks_1?ie=UTF8&text=Jennifer+Lee&search-alias=digital-text&field-author=Jennifer+Lee&sort=relevancerank

Thank you for following me this year and for all your comments and ‘likes’ and ‘shares’. I’ll be taking a break for a couple of weeks, although my online stores will still be open and I will be available to answer any pattern or yarn queries that come up.
I wish you all a very merry Christmas, a happy new year and please be safe on the roads.
And stay tuned for some exciting developments in 2019!
