‘Brantley’ is an 8ply Beanie, which has a 1×1 rib brim then is worked in fisherman’s rib. The pattern includes sizes 2-5 years, 6-10 years, Teen, Lady and Man – so I’ve got the whole family covered with this one! This squishy stitch is thick and warm to wear, and it takes less than one 100g ball to knit it so is very economical to make.

Winter has definitely arrived here in the southern hemisphere and while I don’t relish the cold, it is the ideal time to snuggle up in winter woollies.
I recently shared my Sierra slipper pattern, and today I am presenting my Saffron slippers. They are a combination of slippers and socks. Worked in 8ply/DK yarn, they are very comfortable to wear and the rib cuffs provide extra warmth for the ankles.
I like the cheery combination of these three colours but they can be worked in just one colour if you prefer.
